In 2025, Phase 1 of a state-of-the-art experience will open at the busiest seaport in the United States, aboard the legendary Battleship IOWA.

The Campaign
The Freedom of the Seas campaign to build the National Museum of the Surface Navy is being spearheaded by the Pacific Battleship Center, the 501(c)3 non-profit responsible for establishing the Battleship IOWA Museum as a top 5 Los Angeles museum and an attraction. The Pacific Battleship Center secured the rights to build the Surface Navy Museum through a licensing agreement with the US Navy in 2018 and a Congressional designation in 2021.
Vision: To inspire global awareness of freedom of the seas.
Mission: To ignite curiosity, connect communities, and enhance understanding of America’s role in maritime peace and prosperity.
The timeline to build the museum pending donations and financial support is:

We’re rapidly moving forward with our plans for the Freedom of the Seas Park & Pavilion and now you can leave your mark on the project.
